Everybody is talking about the importance of digitizing processes, and yet pursuing this goal represents a tremendous challenge for many companies. The topic seems too distant and too complex. The goal of the platform DIGITAL2GO is to make digitization accessible to all – step by step and with simple solutions that cover an application spectrum that is as broad as possible.

Oliver Lehner, director business unit integration partner of KNAPP AG, explains why gradual digitization is so important for small and medium-sized businesses: “SMEs face the challenge of maintaining their competitiveness on a daily basis. Process digitization increases the efficiency of a company and thus strengthens its market position. For this reason, digitization is the decisive tool of the present and future for building up a sustainable competitive advantage.”

Big goals require clear visions

DIGITAL2GO is relying on stand-alone plug & play solutions in order to ensure that digitization is successful for any company. These solutions can easily be integrated into the existing infrastructure without having to implement large-scale changes in company-specific processes. Individual products are summarized so that these can complement each other within various solution categories. Thus, a comprehensive offer is achieved that can adapt to the requirements of wholly different target groups. Based on the attribute of simplicity, DIGITAL2GO solutions are to be made accessible to as many users as possible.

In addition to reducing failure costs, running costs for transport and manipulation are also reduced as Gerald Hofer, CEO of KNAPP AG, emphasizes. “Data acquisition is another important issue,” he adds. “In the future, every company will require data for optimizations, quality verifications and improvements – especially for exploring new business models and expanded customized service offers,” says Hofer. He sees data as an essential component of success also within the context of cooperating with other companies and partners: “As part of dynamic supply chains, which also includes regional networking, the acquisition and permanent exchange of data with other companies is also important for one’s own competitiveness and qualification as partner.”

Strict criteria for the product selection

The requirements DIGITAL2GO places on solutions that are integrated in the platform portfolio are demanding. Compromises cannot be accepted. Oliver Lehner explains the selection process that precedes the launch in detail: “Our products are selected based on the largest efficiency gain for users. We are happy to respond to the market and screen queries, which we, e.g., receive from the help desk. We search for suitable answers if we detect bundles with the same topics and questions.”

Individual solutions must fulfill strict criteria so that DIGITAL2GO can truly keep its promise of offering plug & play solutions with high usability, maximum process optimization and efficient data acquisition. A special market readiness analysis ensures that each product on the platform meets all requirements and quality demands of DIGITAL2GO.

Direct contact as the first step

DIGITAL2GO is fully aware that the topic of digitization remains a cause for concern and is still often regarded as complicated, elaborate and costly. Therefore, we especially rely on low-threshold and, at the same time, informative communication with potential users. In addition to the magazine, which reports on respective tasks and suitable solutions of the portfolio by means of customer use cases, advice on the process of gradually implementing digitization within a company is also offered. The help desk as well is available to interested parties and users in order to discuss individual requirements and jointly discover optimal solutions.

“Digitization is important,” Lehner says in summary. “Yet, it is not the Holy Grail. From a somewhat different perspective, digitization is nothing other than placing lived out or optimizable processes in a more or less systematic automated context and transforming these with respective digitization tools.”
